Now Offering Optima IPL

Many individuals who suffer from dry eye actually have Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD).  Meibomian glands are oil glands in the eyelids that produce the oily layer of our tears.  If the oil is not working properly, the tears evaporate quickly.  The glands are expressed naturally by blinking, and we are blinking less and less due to electronic device use.  The oil congeals when it is not expressed, causing dysfunction and atrophy of the glands.  IPL targets the glands and liquifies the oil.  Over the course of four treatments, MGD can be reversed.  These four treatments are spaced one month apart.  Once the four treatments are completed, maintenance treatments are recommended at six month or one year increments.
